ROBYN’S DREAM DRESS

“I found my perfect wedding dress on my second try in May 2012. Earlier that year, I had seen a dress I liked in the movie “When in Rome”, and started researching who the designer was. Lo and behold, the dress was by the amazing Ethiopian designer, Amsale Aberra. The dress however was from an older collection, and I didn’t think I was going to find it easily in Toronto. I kept my spirits up, and looked instead at her current collection at that time. I fell in love immediately with a number of dresses, including what would eventually be my own – Bianca. Luckily, I stumbled upon a spring trunk show at Pearl Bridal House only a couple weeks after research- ing, and went in for a fitting on a whim. I only had my MOH at my side, but she was all I needed. I tried on a few dresses which were okay, but after putting Bianca on, I knew that dress was the one. I don’t know if it was the ruched sweetheart neckline, the ball-gown skirt I had never seen before, the drop waist that hugged my curves, or that Bruno Mars was playing on in the background, but I knew almost immediately this was the perfect dress. All I needed was re-affirmation from my MOH, and Aubrey (Pearl’s most wonderful and kind dress consultant), and that night, I walked out knowing I had checked my dress off my growing to-do list.”
